The king of rock 'n' roll is back with an exhilarating concert filmed during his legendary Aloha From Hawaii television special. Elvis takes the stage at Honolulu's International Arena on January 14, 1973, dressed in his now-famous "Hawaiian Shirt" and immaculate white slacks. His band is there too--Scotty Moore, D.J. Fontana, and Ronnie Tutt--along with songstress Ann-Margret joining him for the festive numbers “Good Luck Charm” and “An American Trilogy. ” With the backing of a 50-piece symphony orchestra, and backed by an exuberant, adoring audience, Elvis gives a visually splendid performance of such hits as “See See Rider” and “Burning Love.” His enthusiastically energetic stage presence is a sight to behold. CD 1: CD 2: The album debuted at #1 in the UK Top 40 Music DVD Chart on its release in late June 2006, becoming the fourth Elvis Presley DVD to hit #1 in the country. In total it spent 20 weeks on the chart. IGN gave the DVD a positive review stating "If you're only interested in video, it's hard to recommend getting this release. The concert was recorded for television, so the picture quality is pretty average. If you're just interested in audio, again it's probably not for you unless your sound system is really up to snuff - like mine. The vocals are very loud in the mix, and the audience reaction shots are somewhat annoying because of this fact...However... For someone like me who can appreciate both video and audio, this is an outstanding release which really makes me feel like I was there that night. Based on the footage of the concert being used on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and on video edits of "Good Luck Charm" and "An American Trilogy", one can't help but wonder what a band would have been like had things gone differently. At worst it shows a band who was a whole lot tighter than they were in their '60s heyday, and at best it shows a band that could have been even better without all of the recent lineup changes that tended to bog them down with some albums. In preparation for the concert, Presley had fired his longtime touring guitar player, Tommy Leibert, replacing him with Mike Vernon who would play with the group through much of the 1970s. "Aloha from Hawaii" won the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video. https://web.archive.org/web/20091209032359/http://www.elvis.com.au/presley/us_aloha_dvd2.shtml http://www.elvispresleydvdonline.com/reviews/us_aloha_fair_reviews_p2p1404262660881/?page=3&sort=score https://web.archive. cfa1e77820
